Truly fantastic day at the NZ Nationals in Wellington for the Kitaco Team under Argentinian Judge, Frances Smith. Our Smooth Coat boy, Spenny (NZ CH El-Toro Rey Spencer) owned by Casey Walters, stunned us all by taking Best of Breed in the Smooth Coats. He showed his little heart out and we are so pleased we could bring him to Wellington for Casey and do her little boy proud.
The Long Coats were almost as good. Niki (NZ CH Eldivino Senorita Nikita) took Best Bitch for the 3rd year running, and topped it off with Reserve Best Of Breed! Can't describe how happy we are with this girl and how thrilled her breeder, Tracy Pearce is with her continued domination of the NZ Long Coat Bitch line-up.
As for the rest of the team, Narci showed brilliantly, but as sometimes happens, it wasn't the day for his type. Very encouraged though, that the judge took the time after the judging to tell us how impressed she was with his daughters, Kyrie and Tara. She told us Kyrie is an excellent prospect who just needs to mature, and that Tara has very striking features and she will mature into a lovely dog.
The future looks very bright for Team Kitaco. We are now going crack the Moet to celebrate and rest the fur babies for a day before the next show on Sunday and the Toy Show on Monday.
