FCI Best Baby Puppy in Show for our Parker
What a weekend for Team Kitaco! Our star this weekend was Parker (Kitaco The Muffin Man) who took out Best Baby Puppy in Show at Saturday's Dogs NZ FCI All Breeds CACIB Show, under Specials Judge Mr John Clark. He won Best Baby of Breed, then Best Baby in Group, before going on to his big win. He also took Reserve Best of Breed, Dog CC and Baby Puppy of Breed on Saturday in The Plains show, and Reserve Dog CC and Baby of Breed again on Sunday.
It was a great weekend for the rest of the team too. Eve (Kitaco Fat Bottomed Girl) took Best Junior of Breed and Best Junior in Group at Saturday's FCI show, then had an even stronger Sunday in the FCI show, taking Best of Breed, Bitch CC and Best Junior of Breed, followed by Best Junior in Group again. She also picked up Reserve Bitch CC and Best Junior of Breed at the Sunday Plains show. Eve achieved another milestone this weekend, as well, but it deserves its own blog.
Narci (Gr Ch Gr Jnr Ch & NZ Ch Mystic Legion Narcissus (Imp Greece)) came out of retirement to take Best Veteran of Breed and Best Veteran in Group at the FCI show on Saturday, then Reserve Best of Breed and Dog CC, Best Veteran of Breed and Best Veteran in Group on Sunday.
Galinda (Kitaco Defying Gravity) picked up Reserve Best of Breed, Bitch CC and Best Puppy of Breed at the Sunday Plains show, and Wendy (Kitaco's Every Breath U Take) took Neuter Best of Breed at both Plains shows, with Runner Up Neuter in Group both shows, as well.
On the Smooth Coat side, Olivia (Kitaco The Trickster) took Best Baby Puppy of Breed at three shows across the weekend — Saturday's FCI show and both days at The Plains Shows.
We scratched the babies from the Sunday FCI show. The weather was abysmal – freezing cold and pouring rain) and we didn’t want the littlies to have a negative experience so early in their show careers. They were much happier tucked up warm in their trolley than trekking around the ring in the rain.
Thanks to our handlers, Tash and Doreen who stepped up with Jenny and Deb working as officials now they are both qualified stewards. Thanks also to the committees, judges and stewards for the FCI shows and The Plains Kennel Association shows. It was a huge weekend in challenging conditions and yet everyone was in good spirits and put on some great shows.
