One of Tracey's most heartbreaking jobs as a vet is dealing with the issue of "economic euthanasia" - that is, having to put down a beloved pet with treatable injuries or conditions, because the owners, no matter how much they love their pet, lack the financial resources to pay for unexpected emergency veterinary expenses.
Because of this, we bang on endlessly to our puppy owners (and anyone else who will listen) about how important Pet Insurance is, which brings us to some wonderful news we can finally share.

How is this different from the insurance most breeders offer?
This is not the widespread "free 6 weeks for breeders" deal offered by most pet insurance compnaies. This is a full year of comprehensive pet insurance valued at over $500, which owners can continue with at the end of the first, complimentary year.
Why would you include this?
Because Petplan are great and the conversion rate to an actual insurance policy on breeder "free 6 weeks deals" that most breeders send out with their puppies is about 8%, so sadly, 92% of new puppies sold, even with free cover, are uninsured and vulnerable six weeks after arriving in their new home.

*Even better, it is lifetime cover, which means "Covered For Life®” Plans specific to Petplan® where chronic, re-occurring or lifelong conditions and Illnesses are covered for the full life of the pet, (provided the policy is renewed each year without a gap in cover, of course).
