Such an exciting weekend in Oamaru with the debut of our newest import, Lady (NZ CH Nightwood Tsarina of Alucard), the first Russian Toy Terrier (Russiky Toy) to arrive in NZ. We are so delighted to work with our partner kennel, CoutureNZ and the fabulous Amba Waghorn, to establish this delightful breed in NZ.
At barely a year old, Lady is already an Australian Champion and arrived in New Zealand less than a week ago. She has caused quite a stir, being the first of her breed to be seen in this country, and announced her arrival with a bang by taking Best Open in Show in the Otago/Southland Toy Dog Society Show on Sunday.
Lady's fabulous debut somewhat overshadowed Alice's (Kitaco's Jappy Jalapeno) Best Puppy in Show in the Dominion Chihuahua Club Specialty Supported Show and Astro the Pom's (Tribble Astronomicl at Ktrio) 2 Best of Breeds and the pile of minor placings the rest of the team took in all 4 shows. Sadly, we'll never know if Astro had a chance at Junior in Show in Saturday's Toy Show, because the judge didn't bother to wait for the whole group to enter the ring before choosing a winner, but that's Conformation Dog Showing for you. Better luck next time, Astro.
