Lovely day out today at the Canterbury Toy Dog Society Double Ribbon Parade with our fabulous junior handlers, Charly and Jaxyn,
Proving she has emerged, chrysalis-like, from her cocoon of the dreaded "uglies", our special girl, Kyrie, surprised us all by wining two Best of Breeds and taking Best .on Parade in the first show and winning Best Puppy on Parade in the second show. She was shown with spectacular confidence and expertise by our star junior handler, Charly Houtos. The two of them make a brilliant team.
Her little sister, Tara, also did us proud, taking Baby Puppy On Parade in the second show, but coming second to possibly the cutest Chinese Crested puppy we have ever laid eyes on, in the first show.
To round out great day, Niki's favourite handler, Jaxyn, won the Junior Handler award, showing his favourite girl and Charly won her age division showing Narci.
Best of all, in a strong field in the Champion stakes, our Chihuahuas were the only Chihuahuas to make it to the top 3, with Niki placed in the Top 3 in the first show and Narci in the top 3 in the second show. Quite impressive, we think, considering the lineup included a previous National Chihuahua Long Coat Best of Breed winner and several dogs who have placed in All-Breeds, Best in Show lineups.
Pups are now all cuddled up with Tracey on the bed, sleeping off their big day.
PS: Kyrie is officially back on the show team.
