Narci (Gr CH, GR JNR CH, NZ CH Mystic Legion Narcissus) is having a high old time at the moment. He's almost 10 years old and he's loving being back in the ring as a veteran and the judges are, apparently, loving him!
At the Canterbury Junior Kennel Society shows on the weekend, under Thai judge, Mr J Sattapunkeeree, our Himalayan Floof Goblin surprised us all by taking the Best of Breed, Best Dog CC and Best Veteran of Breed in a large field that included the 2023 National Best of Breed winner! Not bad for an old boy. He then went on to take Veteran of Group, which proved a double-edged sword, as it meant we didn't get home until 7pm. And we only live 30 minutes from the grounds!
On day 2, the whole team rose to the occasion. Under Australian judge, Ulla Greenwood, Ava took Best of Breed, Best Bitch CC and Best Open of Breed. Ben and his Grandad cleaned up in the dogs, taking Reserve Best of Breed, Best Dog CC and Best Intermediate of Breed and Narci winning Reserve Dog and the Best Veteran of Breed and Group for the 2nd day in a row!
Little Mojo did brilliantly too, in the Smooth Coats and took Best Baby Puppy of Breed in both shows.
So we came home with 3 out of the 4 CCs on offer and a couple of Groups Not a bad way to finish our last show for the year. It's been an amazing year for Kitaco and we're so blessed to have such wonderful dogs, great friends and supporters that making showing so much fun. Win, lose or draw, it's about the time we get to spend focussed on our dogs that makes these days so special.
Thanks to Linda Phillips from Dreamweaver Photography for the fabulous B&W shot of Narci in action.
Can wait to see what 2024 brings.
